Use Start and Finish, not Early Start and Early Finish.

This tip mostly applies to P3 users moving to P6 or P7. In P3, Early Start and Early finished displayed asterisks for constraints and “A” for actuals.

 

In P6/P7, these dates ARE the early dates and do not display constraints or actuals. In fact, once actuals are applied they switch to the Data Date.

 

Therefore, you should use Start and Finish. These are Remaining Early Start and Remaining Early Finish when there are no actuals (and they will display the “*”  for constraints. They will display “A” when actuals are applied.
